Webbernet photo tour

20110614-072452.jpg

One of my favorite things is collecting some of the beautiful photography available from around the net.

Its like a grand tour were you visit unique sites without leaving the comfort of home.

Edited and unedited alike – there are some talented photographers out there that love to share as much as we love to gawk.

God bless ’em.

I found this set of destroyed Six Flags pics after the hurricane Katrina disaster.

They have a creepy post apocalyptic feeling and you fully expect to see zombies peeking out from behind the rides.

Apparently the photographers risked both the zombie attack, and possible arrest to bring them to us for our viewing pleaser.

Check ’em!

Water-Scape Photography

I found this awesome collection of “water-scape” photography I thought I’d share.

I’ve always been drawn to photography of nature and love streams, lakes and waterfalls.

The colors and effects in some of these are inspirational to say the least.

Hope you enjoy as much as I did!

Great Gift Idea

I love gift ideas that are off beat and one of a kind. I think the thoughtfulness behind something that cant be replicated demonstrates the true desire to go out of your way for someone. No I’m not talking about that macaroni picture you gave your mom for mothers day when you were 7, but you get the idea. A beauty of the Internet is you can easily enlist the creative help of others to help you in such an endeavor.

One such “artist for hire” I’ve discovered named Serkan Yener highlights his digital portfolio in a way that does a great job marketing his various skills. Reproducing a photo memory of a friend or loved one in a unique artistic way, he offers lots of options that make choosing fun. You choose the size and style he does all the work. You can have him color or black ‘n white pencil draw your photo or go digital ala Photoshop. From poster-card size to wall poster size.

One really cool “digital gift” idea is the Speed Painting. Basically it amounts to Serkan drawing your art of choice on the computer with screen capture running. This records the creation from the beginning brush stroke and can even be set to your music of choice. It’s sped up so a 6 hour draw is reduced to about 5 minutes. Not only does the art come to life before your eyes exemplifying the artists amazing talent, but the ability to personalize this with taste would make it an awesome gift.

Your drawing/digital creation can be ordered in multiple prints just like you would if you had real portraits taken. (Wallet size also available) Heck, you can order a canvas to hang over the fireplace! In addition, if you have a special request or need some Photoshop work done he definitely looks qualified. IE remove the background from a photo and replace with new background, etc. Options are awesome.

Reasonably priced for what you get and he accepts paypal. Two weeks is his requested turn around and all he needs is a photo. Take a look at his website below for full details and price-list!
