Trippy “Wheres Waldo”

This graphite piece by Joe Fenton from Brooklyn is not only huge, taking 8 months to finish but is intensely detailed.

With so much going on its sort of like a fantastically awesome “Wheres Waldo” picture.

Fire Tornado

20110613-095354.jpg

The fire whirl, also known as the fire devil or fire tornado is a rarely captured phenomenon in which a fire can under certain conditions (depending on air temperature and currents), acquires a vertical vorticity and forms a tornado-like rotating column of air.

Fire whirls may be whirlwinds separated from the flames, either within the burn area or outside it, or a vortex of flame, itself.

History records huge fire whirls that have diabolically sprung up out of blazes killing masses of people in matters of minutes. Most of the largest fire whirls have come from wildfires. They can be up to 100 miles high and persist for more than 20 minutes powerful enough to uproot trees!

Naturally beautiful and intimidating at the same time…
